Are you hearing me? There was a time when the word that God was sending to the church was healing. And it was what the Holy Spirit was largely passing to the church. It was referred to in those days as faith healing movement. During this movement a lot of healing Evangelists rose up and the Holy Spirit confirmed his word through them, through signs and wonders. In fact, this started with Apostle Peter, the word healing movement was the first one. Because how would they believe if there was no miracles, signs and wonders? So, you would see Peter going into the temple and he would see a man that was lame, and he would say get up and he would get up and that confirms the word of God. Now watch this, it was a period even in our own generation Peter that witnessed the emergence of men of God like John G. Lake, like Smith Wigglesworth, like Amy Simple McPherson the founder of Foursquare church, like Katherine Kuhlman, A.A. Allen and many others. You see, they came with a message of faith healing that God wants to do miracles, signs and wonders. You know, we still see some of them going on today and we are also a part of that. At one time also, the message God the Holy Spirit was sending to the church was the message of Holiness. And like any other dispensation the Holy Spirit began to raise men and women with a depth of revelation on holiness and sanctification. That dispensation also witnessed a significant level of conviction and harvest of souls. A lot of people came to know Christ. In fact, in those days they would cry. And I want to warn you it was not that God did away with the old dispensation and then start a new one. It’s not a covenant like a testament it was a dis- pensation that was progressive. You understand me. Without undermining the first one it was progressing to something. I’m going somewhere with this I want you to follow me. So, dur- ing the period of the message on Holiness it was the period that raised men of God. Men such as John Wesley, the founder of Methodist church, men like Charles Finney, like Dwight L. Moody. All these men holiness movement. And many churches sprang up during that time. Many of them are still around. They were the church of holiness. Thou shall, and thou shall not. Now, it doesn’t make them wrong. Please wait, let me finish. If we don’t have them, we cannot be ushered into the next message. The first message is healing. So that the whole world may know that Jesus is alive. Now that you are in Christ he also wants you to live a holy life. Are you hearing me. So that dispensa- tion continued to progress. It was a time that the Lord was just raising men and people were getting blessed and the message was always holiness, holi- ness, holiness. Now, God is going somewhere. We witnessed another movement, another message of God. God began to send his messengers to begin to speak Ade Ajala By Bishop-Elect Rev. Dr. Ade Ajala SERMON Continued on Page 15 When the word of faith movement came they opened our eyes to the revelation to the in depth of the fact that Christ didn’t die for you to remain poor. He was made poor, so that you could be made rich.
