SERVING THE COLORADO BODY OF CHRIST

If God is Your Father,
Please Call Home

By Rev. Ade Ajala

Philippians 4:6-7 says, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs and don’t forget to thank Him for His answers. If you do this, you will experience God’s peace, which is far more wonderful than the human mind can understand.” TLB.

Whatever is worth worrying about is certainly worth praying about. If you are ever going to get to the next level you must first take your prayer life to the next level. God is never more than a prayer away from you. When you feel overwhelmed or swept off your feet, get back to your knees.

Corrie Ten Boom said; “The devil smiles when we make plans, He laughs when we get too busy, but he trembles when we pray.”

Prayer provides power, poise, peace and purpose for our purposes, plans and pursuits. The most powerful energy we can generate is prayer energy.

Martin Luther said; “I have so much to do today, I shall spend the first three hours in prayer.”

Now that is opposite to what many people will do. When we have a lot to do that is when we cut back on our prayer time. We get too busy that we forget to pray. It is a serious case in the body of Christ. We are good at strategizing but very poor at the business of prayer.

No wonder we are becoming a bunch of beggars instead of “prayers” (the one who prays). You see common people do not pray, they only beg. When we pray, we link ourselves with God’s power and insight. No matter how many hours you spend wishing, it is no substitute for prayer. Don’t forget that prayers can only be answered when they are prayed.

Mark 11:24 says; “Whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them and you will have them.”

Starting today, we are embarking on a journey that will turn our life around. We are starting a week of fasting and prayer.

No man or woman can go places with God without the instrument of prayer. Prayer is a force that changes the unchangeable. It is the force that man uses to access the secrets of the enemy; it is the key that man uses to access the strategies that heaven uses to govern the earth.

If you want to be a master on the earth then you must master the art of prayer. Learning how to pray effectively is one of the most important things a believer can ever do in his Christian walk. No one can successfully fulfill God’s purpose in his/her life if he/she does not know how to pray according to biblical principles.

Prayer is one of the capital conditions to access the higher dimension of glory.

Luke 9:28-35 we saw Jesus on the transfiguration mountain with Peter, James and John. Verse 29 says; “As He prayed, the appearance of His face was altered, and His robe became white and glistening.”

Jesus prayed Himself into a higher realm. Prayer is the instrument God uses to translate man into the supernatural. As Jesus prayed, He countenance was altered and the people around Him saw His glory. There is a glory hidden in you that only through effectual prayer can it be revealed and be evident to people around you.

Prayer is the force that reverses the irreversible. No matter the verdict against you, God can change it through the weapon of prayer.

John 11:39-43 say; “Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. 40Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? 41Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. 42And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. 43And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. 44And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave clothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. (KJV)

We saw Jesus at the tomb of Lazarus who had been dead for four days. Jesus said in verse 39; “Take away the stone” Martha the sister of Lazarus said; Lord, by this time there is a stench, for he has been dead four days.” In other words Master, the situation is beyond redemption, he is stinking by now because decomposition is already taking place. It is irreversible now.

In verse 40, Jesus said “Did I not say to you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?” Jesus used the force of prayer to bring back to life the man who has been dead for four days. Jesus prayed, He said; “Father I thank thee that thou hast heard me…” There is no irreversible case with God; all we have to do is to go to God in prayer.

Prayer is not what you do occasionally; it is not something you do when you feel like doing it. You must pray without ceasing.

Luke 18:1-8

Then He spoke a parable to them that men always ought to pray and not lose heart, 2 saying: “There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man. 3 Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’ 4 And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man, 5 yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’” 6 Then the Lord said, “Hear what the unjust judge said. 7 And shall God not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them? 8 I tell you that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”

We are called to pray without ceasing. Do not quit praying just because you have not received your answer. Keep praying until you get your answer.

WHY MUST WE PRAY?

» Prayer makes “Divine Help” available. Every branch of a tree needs the roots to survive. Jesus is the root of David and we are the branches. We need His help to retain our color.

Hebrew 4:16 says; “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” The word “help” is also the same as the word “favor”. WE all need God’s help. Help is available to those who pray.

» Prayer makes “Divine Secret” available. Without divine secret success is impossible and if at all it is with pain and struggle.

Divine secret makes Job an outstanding man in his time. Job 29:4-11 says; “As I was in the days of my youth, when the secret of God was upon my tabernacle; 5When the Almighty was yet with me, when my children were about me; 6When I washed my steps with butter, and the rock poured me out rivers of oil; 7When I went out to the gate through the city, when I prepared my seat in the street! 8The young men saw me, and hid themselves: and the aged arose, and stood up. 9The princes refrained talking, and laid their hand on their mouth. 10The nobles held their peace, and their tongue cleaved to the roof of their mouth. 11When the ear heard me, then it blessed me; and when the eye saw me, it gave witness to me: (KJV).

Divine secret made Daniel a success in a strange land. Daniel 2:16-19; “So Daniel went in and asked the king to give him time, that he might tell the king the interpretation. 17 Then Daniel went to his house, and made the decision known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions, 18 that they might seek mercies from the God of heaven concerning this secret, so that Daniel and his companions might not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon. 19 Then the secret was revealed to Daniel in a night vision. So Daniel blessed the God of heaven.”

Deuteronomy 29:29 says; ““The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.”

God is the custodian of all secrets and we can only get the secret through prayer.

We must not forget that prayer is not a monologue but a dialogue. God is willing to answer our prayer but He might ask us to take some actions. The highest purpose of faith or prayer is not to change my circumstances but to change me.

James Hudson Taylor said; “Do not have your concert and tune your instruments afterwards. Begin the day with God.”

»Prayer brings seeds but programs bring weeds. Unless you pray you will be trying to access your spiritual blessing through natural means.

If God is your Father, please call home.
