Founded by J Michael Thompson, a unique and creative minis- try was developed by God. Rohi Ministry has been dedicated to the encouragement of pastors and lead- ers across the country. Their mis- sion is to honor God by recognizing His servants who have helped oth- ers in developing and strengthening their relationship with Christ. Over the past 20 years they have encouraged, supported, uplifted and honored forty-nine of God’s faithful servants. Spiritual giants such as, the late Pastor Dennis Leonard, Dr. Charles Stanley, Dr. Tony Evans, and Pastor Yvonne McCoy to name a few. This year Rohi Ministry will cel- ebrate their 50th honoree, Apostle Anthony Wilson of Sure Foundation Community Fellowship Church. In 2000, Randy McCowan, found- er of the Body of Christ News was one of Rohi’s first recipients. Since then many honorees have been blessed by the recognition and have expressed its impact, “I know of no other organization that exists exclusively for the pur- pose of recognizing and encourag- ing people in ministry. Rohi has certainly been an encouragement to me… I applaud you for hav- ing a heart to bless and honor God’s shepherds.” The late Dr. Rick Ferguson, Riverside Baptist Church, 2001 Rohi honoree “I sat in the service that Rohi set aside to honor those who minister. What an uplift I received during that service! The Lord Himself gave gentle and sweet encouragement, reminding me that His word, even through me, has been very effec- tive. I left renewed, revived, and determined to give Him my best.” Dr. T. E. Hendricks of King Baptist Church, 2016 Rohi honoree. Not only has the Lord placed on the heart of J Michael to honor them while they are here on earth, but another important piece of the min- istry is honoring the legacy of those who have departed this life. The ministry “Continues the Honor” by presenting a Rohi shepherd flag to the surviving family members of any deceased honoree. Partnering with Charles and Cherlyn Haliburton of The Word Bibles, Books, & Music Inc. bookstore in Aurora, the flag is flown at half-mast the week of the home-going services. Mr. Thompson is grateful to a dedicated crew of volunteers who have poured into Rohi Ministry with their gifts, talents, and services. Pastor Nichole Davis, Pastor Kyle Speller, Minister Lemule Pulley, Travis Broxton, Debi McFarland, and Suzette Womack. He realizes that without their help the ministry could not have succeeded. "Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunk- enness and the anxieties of life, and that DAY will close on you suddenly like a trap. 35 For it will come on all those who live on the face of the whole earth. 36 Be always on the "WATCH," and pray that you may be able/found worthy to ESCAPE ALL that is ABOUT TO HAPPEN, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man” (Luke 21:34-36 KJV, NIV).
