Their offices will be located at 914 East 24th Street, Denver, Colorado 80205. Reverend Steven C. Dewberry is the President and Founder of the Metropolitan Urban Challenge, formal- ly the HIV/AIDS Urban Challenge. The Metropolitan Urban Challenge has recently developed the Black Church Economic Development Council or the BCEDC. The Black Church Economic Development Council is structured to assist Rev. Steven C. Dewberry, President the church community in their quest to grow and excel. The Black Church Economic Development Council will make available technical and financial resources that support business growth, financial security and employment development. Reverend Steven and Mrs. Wendy Dewberry work- ing together with their board believe that our businesspersons have a right to the same resources as other busi- nesses in our city. By organizing the Black Church Economic Development Council Reverend Dewberry and min- isters from across the metropolitan Denver community will negotiate with the larger Denver business commu- nity for inclusion and cooperation in their quest for greater business devel- opment. The Black Church Economic Development Council has secured ini- tial support from the Office of Economic Development of both Denver, Colorado and the State of Colorado and look forward to work- ing with business- persons in the Black Church com- munity. We must, “Turn to each other and not on each other” if we are to realize true wealth as a community. Imagine thousands of African Americans supporting their brothers and sisters in business. Other cultures do it, we can do it if we just believe in ourselves. The Black Church Economic Development Council is preparing for their introductory conferences in the month of February and March. Their Pre- Conference luncheon is scheduled for February 23, 2019, 11:00 a.m. location pending. Persons interested in receiving an invitation to this important luncheon should contact the Metropolitan Urban Challenge office at (720) 621-1215 or at metrourbanchallenge@yahoo.com and RSVP by February 15, 2019. Our church community represents the heart of our people and culture. We are a strong and loving people devoted to spreading the Word of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The Word of God admonishes us to “love one another”, and as a people turning to each other in business just makes sense. We look forward to building this ministry in the great city of Denver, in the great state of Colorado. Steven Dewberry By Rev. Steven C. Dewberry, President/CEO ADVERTISEMENT
