For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness! "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil!" (v.10) Minister James, Setting An Example As the season of graduations is upon us we usually turn our attention to the high school our young adults that graduate which is very appropri- ate with these being the greatest number of students that advance. However, this story is about a POWER WOMAN of GOD who persevered defining all odds; Minister Lexine James. Minister James is an accomplished and established woman; she served as the Colorado State President of the Minister Wives & Minister Widows Association and has adult children of her own; setting an example for all to follow. She graduated from Regis University (Denver) with her Master’s Degree. Although the weather presented some challenges the ceremony went on without a hitch. Minister James stated: “MY MOTHER FROM HOUSTON AND FAMILY ENDURED THE COLORADO WEATHER TO COME SUPPORT ME. I AM SO BLESSED.” “TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!” “Rain, sleet or snow, if GOD said it, you believe, it shall be so!!” “My God said in the midst of the storm, I’m gonna have my way.” “All bundled up under our gown and stoles. It was snowy and freezing on the outside, but the SON was shining on the inside.” Minister James pictures here with her mother. By Sheila Smith By Sandra Powell COMMUNITY
