Beechum, Sr. former Pastor of The House of Joy Miracle Deliverance Church, Inc. here in Denver, Colorado. This benefit concert will be held at Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1500 South Dayton Street, Denver, CO 80247 on September 7th beginning promptly at 7:00 pm. It will feature the House of Joy Praise & Worship Team, Ron McMillon, Kenny Jones and special guest performance by Fred Hammond. Apostle Ralph Beechum scholar- ship fund is established to support Cancer research, medical diagnostic and music education. Three scholar- ship recipients will be awarded $1,000 each to further their college education in the medical field and music. Apostle Beechum was a fatality of colon and brain cancer. Through his music and pastoral ministry, he made an enormous impact in the Denver metro community. Apostle Ralph E. Beechum, Sr. was born to his parents, Apostle Ruben Beechum and Mrs. Lula Mae Rogers Beechum. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and moved to Denver, Colorado in 1955 where Ralph completed his formal education in the Denver Public Schools District, later enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1966. After serving for two years he was soon distracted by a young lady, Carolyn Jean Whitfield. She captured his heart early and in 1966, their com- mencement of marriage began. They were blessed with five children, Portia Yvette, Ralph Edward, Jr., Dwan Averill, Eric Damon and Angelica Lynnette. In 1979, Ralph was called to return to his spiritual roots to work with his father, the late Apostle Ruben in the music department at The House of Joy Miracle Deliverance Church. Apostle Ralph received his Master of Theology Degree from Family Bible Institute and an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from the Swisher Bible College in Denver, Colorado. His trust in God was absolute and his battle with cancer proved his faith. He stood the test of faith and fought an incredible fight and fulfilled his pur- pose. He spoke truth to power. One year later, this Benefit Scholarship Concert will lay the grounds for annu- al scholarship benefit programs in remembrance of the late Apostle Ralph Beechum. “A man is as great as the dreams he dreams, as great as the love he bears; as great as the values he redeems, and the happiness he shares.” Apostle Ralph E. Beechum was a great man. As we continue to find treatment solutions and cures to triumph in our battle with cancer, join us September 7th at Rising Star Baptist Church, to celebrate a great man’s dream – to fight the good fight of faith and lay hold on eternal life.
