20 BOCNEWS.com MAY 2018 Jesus, God’s Undercover Boss God in Jesus is the true and origi- nal Undercover Boss. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. He created all trees and plants, birds that fly, cattle and every beast of the field, as well as everything that crawls upon the earth and swims in the sea. The bible says that on the sixth day He created man in His own image to enjoy and oversee His marvelous creation. He command- ed Adam to be fruitful and multiply, to subdue and take dominion over the works of His hand, in other words, to be the boss of everything He had created. He even visited with Adam and Eve in the cool of the garden so they could enjoy His presence and He could enjoy their praise. Well, we all know that they messed it up for themselves and all of us too. I am so glad today that God, by His unfathomable wisdom was not taken by surprise, so He then launched His plan to restore all things back unto Himself. What was this plan? He would send Jesus, to go deep under- cover, to recover all that was lost. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, so that all that believe on Him would be saved. There is a very popular reality show called Undercover Boss. The show focuses on CEO’s disguising them- selves as employees. Isn’t that like what Jesus did? Humbly He took off Glory and was born in a manger when there was no room in the inn, to make room for us in the family of God, not ashamed to call brothers and sisters. The CEO’s on the television show sometimes clumsily and ham hand- edly have to be trained to perform the most menial of tasks. But not Jesus, He came to show us the way, for He is The Way, The truth and the Life. He made Himself of no reputa- tion. “Isn’t that the carpentar’s son”, they said. Yet without any formal seminary training Jesus was found in the temple teaching theology classes to pharisees , priests and scribes as a child. He willingly submitted to the limitations of humanity in order to relate to us and make it very easy for us to relate to our Heavenly Father through Him. He asked Thomas” have you yet been so long with Me Continued on Page 22 By Pastor Terry Thomas Pastor Terry Thomas is not justifiable. The danger of anger often manifests itself in unjustifiable ways and will always get us in trouble with God. In Matthew 5:22, Jesus said, “Whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in anger of the judgment.” Anger and being angry is dangerous business! As Believers our strongest weapon during these trying times is the power of prayer. Become active or more active with productive ways to address our concerns with non violent ways to seek justice. Martin Luther King Jr. was an example of fol- lowing in Jesus Christ footsteps. No matter how he was treated he marched for justice without violence. Jesus was crucified for us. They treated Jesus so cruel, but HE took it to save you and me. HE stayed non violent. He took the unjust to die for our sins. Over 2000 years ago Jesus settled the case. All lives mattered to HIM. He die on that old rugged cross for all lives. I want to encourage each of you today to use our most powerful weap- on, the weapon of prayer, role up your sleeves turn your plate over and fast a few hours or a few days as we come together on one accord to stand in the gap for others during this sensi- tive time with ongoing injustice in this dark, dark world we are living in. Remember, this isn't our home, we are striving each day to make it to our real home... heaven our home.
