11 APRIL 2018 BODY OF CHRIST NEWS 2nd Annual NAREB Home Educational Seminar Before I start talking about the Home Educational Seminar and why it’s so important for you to attend, let’s answer the big question first, who is NAREB? Well, glad you asked. Let’s start with the name. NAREB (National Association of Real Estate Brokers), I know what you are thinking, Finally, Black Real Estate Professionals that can handle all my housing needs. Let me tell you about NAREB History First. We are the nation’s oldest professional minority real estate trade association, it was formed in 1947 to secure the right to equal housing opportunities for all regardless of race, creed, or color. NAREB has approximately 90 chap- ters nationwide and publishes annu- ally, The State of Housing in Black America (The SHIBA REPORT). The banner under which NAREB marches, Building Black Wealth through Homeownership represents an aggressive, yet achievable meth- od to restore economic strength and wellbeing in our communities. We are educating Black Americans at the community level about the cur- rent and long-term value of owner- ship, as opposed to renting. NAREB’s approach to increasing Black Wealth incorporates financial education, homeownership preparation and counseling, outreach to the faith- based community along with expand- ing Black consumers knowledge base about the importance of advocating for public policies that support and increase affordable and sustainable homeownership. Our current leadership believe that an Annual Home Educational Seminar is the best way to reach our Community. So why is it so impor- tant for you to attend? If you are attracted to the health, wealth and prosperity movement, the name it and claim it movement, you are not saved, especially if you are at a church that talks more about the money instead of the Soon Coming of our Lord and Savior. If you are at a church where the pastor is preaching on God's bless- ings, prepping the congregation for the offering, you need to leave. If the lights go out during the service only to see ushers holding offering baskets in the aisles when the lights come back on, you need to leave. It may seem right and feel good, but it is not of God. You are dealing with a greedy preacher who is addicted to the love of money and he is denying Jesus (Matt 6:24, 1Thess 2: 3-6, 1Tim 6:3-15, 2 Pet 2:1-3, Rev 3:14-17, John 2:16). If you find that your loyalty is attract- ed more to personalities and popular preacher's, than you are to the Word of God, you are not truly saved. If you are more concerned with popularity, love, unity and church growth, instead of major doctrinal error, you are not truly saved. If you are compromising the truth, allowing God's grace to be changed into a life of immorality instead of defending the faith that was once entrusted to the all the saints, you are NOT SAVED! (2 Cor 11:1-15, 2 Tim 4:1-8, Jude 3-4. Rev 2:18-29). If you are promoting the one world ecumenical movement that eliminates John 14:1-10, claiming that Jesus is "NOT" the only Way, Truth and the Life, and that He is "NOT" the only COMMUNITY SAVED ... continued from page 8 Continued on Page 21 By David Babineaux
