6 BOCNEWS.com FEBRUARY 2018 Rev. Ade Ajala to be Bishop Being a bishop is a lot of responsibility, and Rev. Ade Ajala is taking on the new role with immense pride. The pastor of Kingdom Connection Christian Center in Aurora will be officially consecrated as the new bishop on June 23. The Calvary Grace College of Bishops had been asking Rev. Ajala about becoming bishop. His church is an affiliate of the denomination out of Philadelphia, other cities as well as in Nigeria. Although most associated churches run indepen- dently, explains Rev. Ajala on his upcoming new role as bishop, “I will oversee those churches that fall under my jurisdiction. That means maintaining and providing spiritual guidance for leadership to these churches.” Rev. Ajala doesn’t plan on being overwhelmed by his new role; he will continue to be a pastor at Kingdom Connection and work in the community. “The reason that Calvary Grace College of Bishops wanted me in this position is because they saw how much I am doing around the world and still run my church here in Denver. I have raised up leaders in this church who are capable of running it.” Originally from the coun- try of Nigeria, Rev. Ajala always felt God gave him a calling to help bridge that gap between Africans and African-Americans. “He (God) said let that relationship be genuine and truthful and that is what I have been doing,” says Rev. Ajala. “We are moving into a new phase of acquiring land in Africa for those African Americans who want a holiday home to go to or rent out. Even if they decide to take a break and say I want to go to Africa and stay for two years – that is a great thing.” “It’s not about marketing. It’s about relationships. And many black Americans do want to go to Africa.” Not only that, Rev. Ajala adds building a home in Africa can be as cheap as $45,000. Despite the negativity com- ing from national leadership in Washington D.C. and society regarding those from different countries, Rev. Ajala remains positive. “I say to those in my own church do not be bit- ter, do not get frustrated. Believe in the goodness of America will outlast everyone who has a bad heart for the race.” Rev. Ajala consecration as new bishop will take place during the Kingdom Connection Christian Center’s annual conference starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 23. Kingdom Connection Christian Center is located at 1391 Oswego St. , Aurora, Co Services are at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. on Sundays and 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays.
