4 BOCNEWS.com OCTOBER 2017 In June of this year, Pastor Yvonne preached her last official sermon - “Never Again No More.” While it may seem coincidental, we know God does every- thing strategically. In this sermon, she preached about seeing a newness in God and leaving the old things behind. She continued to preach about things that may ail you are cause pain and turmoil she said – “you will see no more!” She referenced the Children of Israel’s deliverance from bondage in Egypt. She spoke so profoundly, that we know she no longer has to deal with earthly problems and turmoil because she is resting in the bosom of the Lord. On August 22, 2017, Pastor Yvonne Emerson com- pleted her work here on earth and the Lord called her home. She was a good and faithful servant preaching and teaching the word of God in her unique way even until her last days (literally)! Let her life be an example. Most importantly, let it serve as an example to live a life pleasing to God. She lived a life believing His word, and proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Her exemplary life shows us all that we can and should trust God regardless of personal setbacks, life’s challenges, and man’s opinions. She taught us to look adversity in the face and tell it, “Never Again No More.” We thank God for the life she lived. We celebrate everything she gave us and everything she stood for. A vibrant Woman of God, yet elegant – she was our world and our everything. She was our mother, a wife, and First Lady. We will miss her but she left us so much, and so much to live for. Her memories and many words of wisdom, bring our hearts joy. Our next step is to carry the torch forward and live a life she wants us to live. So, with that we say thank you. Thank for all the cards, calls, gifts, and flowers. We received so much love and acts of kindness, we unfortunately cannot thank everyone by name. Please know that we appreciate you from the very bottom of our hearts. Pastor Yvonne’s legacy lives on in her four daughters, her grandchildren, her sons and daughters in the Gospel, and her soul- mate and the love her life Apostle Leon Emerson.
