But only one local minister, George L. Roberts, from the community has preached in the pulpit at Heritage. Bishop Dennis Leonard stepped aside from his senior preaching duties last November to allow Pastor Roberts to preach. Although, it was on election night, around 800 people packed the church and 100,000 people followed his message on the Internet. Pastor Roberts is still riding high from that experience. And Bishop Leonard has plans for him to preach again this year. The Body of Christ Newspaper talked to Pastor Roberts about being that faithful servant of God and his membership at Heritage: BOCN: Why was it so important for you to preach at Heritage Christian Center? Pastor Roberts: “Since being at Heritage, my ministry has really exploded. I came from being the senior pastor of the Church With Out Walls Ministries.” “It was a great idea in order for me to get some further education on being part of a multicultural church. Bishop Leonard is a visionary and has built three churches in his lifetime. So what better person to teach you how to build than Bishop Leonard.” BOCN: How has it been since you’ve been a member at Heritage? Pastor Roberts: “I have preached at some of the big funerals here at the church and did a seven-day reviv- al. I know when I preach that night on election night (November 2), those who couldn’t make it, at least 300 people emailed me and text me to say they were in line at the polls. But I know 100,000 people seen me on the Internet. And five Bishops have called me to ask if I would come bless them with my preaching sometime this year.” BOCN: No date has been set yet for you to preach again at Heritage ? Pastor Roberts: “No. I am excited to preach again. It has always been a life passion of mine to preach at Heritage. When Bishop Leonard left and moved to San Diego, I thought my dream went out the window. But God opened up a window and brought the Bishop back and allowed me to preach for him.” BOCN: Bishop Leonard what do you think of Pastor Roberts and when will he preach again at your church? Bishop Dennis Leonard: “When Minister George Roberts preached here at Heritage, he did a fantastic job. He was anointed and lives were changed that night. We definitely will have him preaching again.” BOCN: So Pastor Roberts what is your message of hope for others to fol- low? Pastor Roberts: “Stay faithful, stay focused, stay humble and be anxious for nothing. And to other ministers out there, never ask your (senior) pastor if you can preach in the pulpit. If you do, then that is a sign you are not sea- soned or ready yet. I never asked the Bishop if I could preach.” For more information about Heritage Christian Center go to www.heritage- christiancenter.com. The church is located at 14401 E.
