The scribe goes on to say that "Timothy knowledge led to his vocation as an evangelist, as a partner with Paul in missions and as an example of effective Christianity for all future generations." 2. Have an Active Meditation and Prayer Life. The best Christians are that way because their lives are powered by the Word of God, in the opinion of many Bible scholars. Furthermore, the academicians maintain that the key is to keep the Creator’s Words in their hearts and on their minds. In their opinion, the best and most effective Christians are people who are able to stand up for right, give right advice, say the right thing at the right time because they know what right is. In support of the scholars’ state- ments, these facts should be remem- bered: Jesus prayed throughout His ministry. John the Apostle was in prayer when he had the vision to write the Book of Revelation. Paul prayed constantly for direction. Lydia was at a prayer meeting when she was converted. 3.Set "Spiritual Goals." As is true in business, "If you don't plan for success you are plan- ning to fail." To be the best and most effective Christian set realistic goals, develop and put into practice ways and means to achieve them, and commit yourself to attaining the objectives with help from God through meaningful actions and faith in Christ. Paul saw and heard Jesus could perform miracles, established the church in the Roman Empire, but he was continually setting new goals to widen his vision for the future and to keep himself spiritually fit. 4. Cultivate Talents of Others. Take the time to help another per- son to grow in his or her Christian life.
