Spiritual Gifts vs. Fruit of the Spirit

The body of Christ today is more knowledgeable than ever before in the area of the gifts of the Holy Spirit, but we are extremely lacking in the area of understanding our spiritual “fruit.” We need to make sure that we connect the “Fruit of the Spirit” with the “gifts of the Spirit.”

Good Anger, Bad Anger

How do you handle anger? It says a lot about the kind of person you are. Jacob’s sons Simeon and Levi apparently were so controlled by anger that their father cursed them for it (Gen. 49:7).

Already in the Promised Land

We chase the things of God like a drug addict looking for his next high. A drug-addicted person seeks out his supplier in order to get what he craves. We Christian born-again believers are no different. We are addicts. We want the stuff God gives, such as material blessings, ministries, and His favor in our lives. Like the junkie, we want what He dispenses.

The problem lies in the fact that unlike the drug supplier who is dealing out death, God is the giver of life. (more…)
