Patrick L. Demmer Jr. Pastor Graham Memorial Community Church Of God In Christ is the newly appointed Chairman of the state COGIC ‘s General Council Of Pastor And Elders.

Following is a statement from Rev. Demmer:

“It is with great appreciation and gratitude that our prelate the honorable Bishop Roosevelt Dunn has selected me to further my leadership position of the men of the Church Of God In Christ. Serving already as the Jurisdictional President of the Agape Men’s Fellowship, I accept this promotion as a great opportunity to lead now also the credentialed men of our church, pastors and elders of our great church.

“It is my vision to lead the pastor’s and elders of the Church of God in Christ into new and previously uncharted arena’s of community involvement and business opportunities. As the largest denomination of affiliated churches that gather at any one time in the state of Colorado, (over 50 local individual churches throughout the state) we have automatic collaborative opportunities that utilized correctly will benefit both church and community within the neighborhoods where our churches are established.

“Every week the pastor’s and elders of the Church of God in Christ touch thousands of parishioners from all walks of life throughout Colorado. As a voice for justice and community empowerment as leaders of our community I shall be encouraging the pastors and elders of this jurisdiction to get involved with their communities and allow our lights to shine. The old days of simply having church behind closed doors and worshiping as if we were a secret society of men and women who love Jesus must end. but close out all others must end and as fore stated of my primary goal will be to move us to be more community involved.

“We will soon launch a men’s mentoring and support program to help the countless number of African American homes where positive role models are absent. Our jail and outreach ministries are already tat work through our local church but we plan to extend that into the greater jurisdiction of the church.

“As many in Colorado are aware we under the vision of our Jurisdictional prelate and will build a new COGIC Temple and headquarters in the Montbello area. As men and leaders of the church we stand with our Bishop to not only build it physically but to build it spiritually and to fill it with men who through our leadership will rediscover the value of a life anchored in Jesus.

“I am a firm believer that before we can return men back to their homes, families and neighborhoods we must first restore men to God and that is our goal and our prayer. “
